Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's a little card I've created for you using "My Digital Studio." Enjoy! By the way, the "My Digital Studio" software is half-price right now, only through Tuesday, Nov. 30! It is only $39.98 instead of $79.95...that is a huge savings on this impressive software! There are several other things that are 50%, 40% and 30% off, including digital downloads. Check them out here. You can only order these things online or directly through me. I am submitting a demonstrator order on the 30th, so let me know before then if you'd like to order something. Thanks!

Baby "sprinkle" invitation

Last month I threw a baby "sprinkle" for a good friend of mine in Colorado. Since this was going to be her second little girl, she didn't need much, so it was not a full-out baby shower. It was small, but enjoyable. My friend actually delivered her baby girl today! Happy birthday Emma!

This is the invitation I made for the party, made with the "My Digital Studio" software from Stampin' Up! I found a card I liked on a popular baby shower invitation website, then re-created the design with some digital graphics in My Digital Studio and had them printed out on pearl linen paper, which gave them a nice shiny, pearly look. I even decorated the back with some patterned paper and a little scallop punch with my name. The poem is a blend of things I gathered online and a few of my own thoughts as I tried to personalize it. I was really happy with the final product!

WCMD Cards

I finally got around to taking pictures of the cards we made at my World Card Making Day event on Oct. 9th. I didn't have as great a turn out as I would have liked (I had card stock cut for probably about 200 cards), but a few of my neighbors and friends showed up, and everyone said they had a great time. I decided I'd use the left over materials to do Christmas cards with my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group, since my friend and I are in charge of creative activities. Then the CSC (Columbus Spouses Club) asked me if I would do Christmas cards with everyone for part of the December social. Of course, I agreed. So now I might have to cut some more card stock for all these people! Anyway, I did a few of these cards for my WCMD event 2 years ago...I just figured nobody around here had seen them, and I was really trying to get rid of some of my retired card stock colors. One or two are CASEd from current or retired catalogs (CASE=copy and share everything). So here they are.

Did you know such a day existed? Well, it does! World Card Making Day started in 2006 by Paper Crafts Magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year. I hosted an event for my neighbors and friends in 2007, and it was a great success. I didn't do it the next two years because I was working and not spending much time stamping and card making, then I had my baby boy. Well, now I'm getting back into card making full-force and hosting another WCMD event for my neighbors and friends. WCMD is always the first Saturday of October. However, I'm hosting my event the second Saturday (Oct. 9), since my babysitter (a.k.a. my hubby) will be out of town on the 2nd. I hope I get a good turnout and people have a really fun time! It will be from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, drop-in style, and we will be making Christmas cards. To cover supplies and my preparation time, I'm charging $5 for 3 cards. Let me know if you're in the Columbus, MS area and want to come (a link to my email is in my profile).

The Other Two

The spouse social went well last week. It was a small group of us, but we had fun talking, eating and crafting together. I always prepare for more people than I expect, so I have a ton of cut cardstock leftover, just waiting to be assembled into cards! Let me know if you want to host a workshop so you can get your friends together to make these cute cards, or something else! Here are the other two cards we made.

Spouse Social

Here's a little sneak peek at one of the 3 cards we're going to make at the squadron spouse social I'm hosting on August 31. We're going to do this birthday card, plus a new baby card and a thank you card. I'm really excited to share my love of stamping with others!

Stationery box

I made this stationary box for my mom for her birthday. It included 4 regular cards and envelopes, 4 small 3x3 cards and envelopes, about 8 tags, a small address book, some stamps, and a pen that matched. It's a really cool box that flips out when the top is removed. I was really excited to give it to my mom, and I think she liked it!

Little girl birthday card

I made this card for a dear friend's little girl, who was turning 2. I used the "Look Who's Turning" set by Stampin' Up! with Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White card stock. Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red inks were used as well. The accessories I used were the scallop edge punch, Big Shot die cutting machine, Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 Texturez plates, scallop trim border, circle punch, and a white pen for details.

Welcome!

Welcome to Creative Cards 'N Crafts! I have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 4 years now, and hope to further my business by keeping up with this blog. I enjoy making cards, 3D projects, and all sorts of other fun things. Sewing is another favorite hobby of mine, so I might post some sewing projects on here too. Stampin' Up! has recently started offering products for sewers and quilters, such as the Big Shot die cutting machine. Paper crafting and sewing go well together!
